Ed Scheer has built his experience in financial planning and education during his ten years as an independent financial planner and his time at Waddell & Reed and LPL Financial. Ed focuses on helping families – especially those who have family members with special needs – understand and make use of all the financial options and opportunities available to them.
Ed received his MBA in 1998 and has earned his CFP® certificate. As an ultra-marathoner, he knows that a lifestyle full of preparation, training and pacing helps guide one towards long-term success. He brings that same mindset to financial planning and investment management.
He is an active member of his community. Ed donates his time to local charitable causes, principally in the area of special needs, and is the past President of the Rotary Club of Glen Ellyn.
Ed was raised in Central Florida and Jackson Hole, Wyoming. He almost never stops moving, but if you can catch him you’ll probably find him in front of a BBQ smoker, in the kitchen baking pies, or running ultra-marathons. Ed is the father of a child who has special needs. Ed and his wife, who is an estate and special needs planning attorney, make their home in Glen Ellyn.
At TriWealth Partners we spend our days focused on the ‘what if’ scenarios of the lives for our clients. Here are some ‘what if’ scenarios of our own:
What if you could only give one piece of financial advice? What would it be?
Plan ahead and be disciplined in your actions today, for we can only control what we do in the present moment.
What if you had the day off to do anything you wanted? What would you do?
I would be with my family having a picnic after hiking around one of the many trails in the area.
What if you had the job you wanted when you were 5 years old? What would you be?
An inventor. I wanted to figure out how things worked and then recreate better versions to solve new problems.
What if you had to describe yourself in three words?
Practical, detail-oriented, patient.
