Our Client Investment Approach
We believe successful long-term investing comes down to three principles: Faith, Patience, and Discipline.
- Faith – Faith in the future has always been an essential requirement for long term investment success. One cannot successfully invest in a future they have no faith in.
- Patience – One must have patience to let their investment strategy work for them. Patience is a crucial quality to any good investor but is always in short supply.
- Discipline – One must preserve their self-discipline and not follow impulses both filtering market commentators who preach disaster during market down-turns and resisting the urge to chase “fad investments.”
To help you in this endeavor,
- We work with you to understand your financial position, plan, and time horizon before making investment recommendations. Investment success can only be achieved if it’s monitored, measured, and adjusted over time against your personal goals.
- We consider a range of asset types, products and account options and make appropriate recommendations based upon your needs and goals.
- We recognize that clients have different tolerances for risk and work with you to build an investment plan that balances your risk with the objectives you are trying to achieve.
- We accept that volatility is part of investing. We understand that it can be uncomfortable and will work with you to find the balance where you can be confident while working toward your goals.
- We use diversification to help mitigate the risk within your portfolio and financial position as a whole. Successful, long-term investing cannot be achieved by timing the market. We continually counsel you to stay invested based on your plan as you work toward your long-term financial goals.
- We understand plans and needs can change. We meet with you as often as needed, but at least annually, to make adjustments where necessary.
- We help you determine a reasonable withdrawal rate from your portfolio in retirement. We will monitor that rate and advise you accordingly.
- There is no magic bullet. Success comes from discipline and time. We coach you to save and invest for your goals, to stay invested in a portfolio that balances your objectives and risk tolerance, and to withdraw funds at a rate reasonable for your portfolio.
There is no guarantee that a diversified portfolio will enhance overall returns or outperform a non-diversified portfolio.
Diversification does not protect against market risk.
